QUARTERLY FLASH FICTION CONTEST

OVERVIEW:

WOW! hosts a flash fiction contest every three months. When you sign up and pay the $5.00 Entry Fee, you will be able to download a PDF file of the guidelines. Word count and prompt is listed below and in the PDF guidelines. There will be a link to the instructions in a receipt email, just in case you misplace the file.

Themes and genres vary, although all of our topics are geared towards women. (Men -- you can enter the contest too) But most of all, let's have some fun!

WORD COUNT:

Maximum: 500

Minimum: 250

PROMPT:

You receive the pom-pom that you thought you had lost ten years ago in high school. There is no return address on the box.

Story slant: Geared toward women readers, light-hearted to funny, imaginative, creative—you get it--*original*. Any take on this theme or any genre is acceptable.

RULES

1. The topic of the contest will be emailed to participants in PDF form along with the instructions. You do not have to include the words of the topic's subject. It is a prompt.

2. The word count will be included with the topic. Do not exceed the word count or you will be disqualified. We use Microsoft Word to count entries. We don't count characters such as *** or - - as words.

3. Please send your story in the body of your e-mail message. Text only. No html.

4. Submit your story to: contest@wow-womenonwriting.com by the designated deadline. Please only submit your story once. We will catch all minor typos.

5. Title your story. Titles do not count in the overall word count.

6. Type your name, email address, mailing address and phone number at the end of the story. We never share this information with anyone. But we do need this to send you your prizes! Only your name and story will be published on WOW! We do not publish
email addresses or other information.

7. By entering the contest, you certify that you've read these guidelines and that you agree, upon winning the contest, to allow Wow! to publish your entry on our website. Winning authors retain all rights to their work. Wow! can not be held responsible for any electronic transmission problems. The company's liability will not exceed the cost of the entry fee. Refunds are not issued. The judges decisions are final.
